"Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord... which turned the rock into a standing water, the flint into a fountain of waters" (Psalm 114:7,8). "In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and His children shall have a place of refuge. The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death" (Proverbs 14:26,27).
Now tremble, O earth, at the sight of the Lord,
The sovereign Creator, sustaining all things,
Who turned desert rock into waters outpoured,
And transformed the flint into bountiful springs.
We trust in the Lord with a reverent fear,
For He is our Refuge and strong Confidence.
Our Savior, the Fountain of Life, draws us near
To fill all our longing and be our Defense.
We tremble rejoicing and trust in His love:
For who is like God, our Creator Supreme?
And who like our Savior would come from above
To lay down His life for the souls He'd redeem?
O Lord, we have heard, in this desert so dry,
So filled with deception and dangerous snares,
You call us to drink from Your endless supply,
And safely to cast on You all of our cares!
