What Fools Will Forget

"The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God" (Psalm 14:1). "Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? Who hath gathered the wind in his fists? Who hath bound the waters in a garment? Who hath established all the ends of the earth? What is His name, and what is His Son's name, if thou canst tell? (Proverbs 30:4). "Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulcher?" (Mark 16:3).

The fool has said within his heart
That God does not exist.
Well, how then did this world start?
Who holds it in His fist?

Who told the waters not to pass
The bounds that He had set?
Who clothed the earth with trees and grass?
(No, I'm not finished yet!)

Who also made it clearly known
He'd rise on the third day?
And after they had sealed the stone,
Who rolled that stone away?

The fool may never count it odd
That questions such as these
Are answered only by the God
Whom he forgets with ease.

Creator of the universe
And Savior of the soul,
Though fools forget, we will rehearse
Your name which we extol!
