The Measure we Mete

"And He said unto them, Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or a bed, and not to be set on a candle stick?.... Take heed what ye hear: for with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given. For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath" (Mark 4:21-25).

Take heed what you hear,
For the Lord gives His Word
And makes His truth clear
To mete out what we've heard.

The measure that's meted,
As we're serving the Lord,
Shall not be depleted,
But be promptly restored.

Take heed to the treasure
That the Lord has bestowed.
We'll reap by the measure
That we faithfully sowed.

Take heed to be true
To God's Word in His sight,
Which was given to you
To be salt and give light.

Take heed to obey
And mete out what is taught.
The Lord takes away
From the one who will not.
