Godly v. Gullible

"The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going" (Proverbs 14:15). "Now faith is... the evidence of things not seen" (Hebrews 11:1).

A prudent faith has evidence
(By Hebrews thus defined),
That gives a logical defense
That satisfies the mind.

I know this goes against the grain
Of scorners who suppose
Believers do not use their brain,
And science thus oppose.

But science that is true agrees
With honest observation
Which analyzes what one sees
In search for its causation.

Godly faith thus understands
That matter, time, and space
Within this universe demands
A First Cause we can trace.

Godly faith is logical
That sees that God has spoken.
True faith isn't gullible
In Scripture never broken.

Mockers now may count it odd
That faith has evidence,
But when they stand before our God,
They'll know it just made sense!
