"But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through His subtlety, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ" (2 Corinthians 11:3).
Remember Satan's subtlety,
That serpent in the garden,
Who turned Eve from simplicity,
So that her heart would harden.
Remembering the subtle ways
And words that Satan used
Will thus expose the snare he lays
For those whom he's confused.
Satan's question: "Hath God said?"
Was all that he would need
To take Eve down the path he led
And sow his doubtful seed.
Let us take this for instruction,
And hold fast to God's Word,
Lest doubting God be our destruction,
In spite of what we've heard.
