Sensible Sacrifice

"Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in Thy sight, O Lord, my Strength and my Redeemer" (Psalm 19:14). "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service" (Romans 12:1).

What could be more sensible,
Than giving to the Lord
A sacrifice acceptable
In every spoken word?

What more should we render,
In view of our salvation?
Our heart we may surrender
With every meditation!

It seems, Lord, only right,
And no less will suffice,
To be pleasing in Your sight
Than a living sacrifice!
