Girded with Gladness

"Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.... Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: Thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness; to the end that my glory may sing praise to Thee, and not be silent" (Psalm 30:5,11,12).

God has filled our hearts with joy
And girded us with gladness
To the end we may employ
His song where there is sadness.

Let us not be silent now
While we may offer cheer
To those whom God would thus endow
His joy, and dry each tear.

Weeping comes for just a night,
But night can seem so long!
So in this darkness, shine His light
And sing His joyful song.
