"Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who shall stand in His holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart, who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive the blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of His salvation" (Psalm 24:3-5).
Who indeed is qualified, with clean and holy hands,
With heart and soul thus purified, to meet the law's demands?
One and only One could meet, God's holy standard set,
And never from His law retreat, and never once forget.
Jesus Christ, and He alone, this high criteria filled,
Who then ascended to God's throne, and to His holy hill,
To stand within that place, and thus, the blessing to receive:
The righteousness He gives to us, and all who will believe.
