More Meek

"Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth" (Numbers 12:3). "Take My yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart, ye shall find rest unto your souls" (Matthew 11:29).

Moses was the meekest man of all upon the earth,
As a vessel that God's hand had made with precious worth.
Yet a meeker Man than he would come another day:
"Take My yoke and learn of Me," this greater Man would say.

Yes, that Man is Jesus Christ, God's meek and lowly Son!
He was for us sacrificed, who were by sin undone.
O wondrous invitation, that we too might learn to be
More meek in His salvation, by His Spirit's liberty!
