Tower in Tribulation

"The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe" (Proverbs 18:10).  "These things I have spoken unto you, that in Me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world" (John 16:33). 

There is a place today to run

To find our Refuge in God's power. 

The name of Jesus, God the Son,

In tribulation is our Tower. 

There is no other place to go

To find our peace in tribulation. 

In Christ alone, we surely know,

We are secure in His salvation.  

By Christ Himself we are assured

That He has overcome the world. 

Our peace forever is secured;

Our sins into the sea are hurled. 

He takes away our cause for fear

As in His Tower we can see

The splendor of eternal cheer

In truth by which He makes us free. 

O Lord, we hear what You have spoken,

And we rejoice to know it's true. 

Your promises are never broken;

We find our peace alone in You. 

Receive our thanks, O Lord our Savior!

Through tribulation You became   

Our Tower of redeeming favor

And Refuge from eternal shame.
