"I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for Thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety" (Psalm 4:8). "The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the LORD" (Proverbs 21:31). "Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished... said, It is finished: and He bowed His head, and gave up the ghost" (John 19:28-30).
How
good it is to safely dwell
Where
God has made all doubt to cease,
Assuring
us that all is well
For
Christ has purchased perfect peace.
His
work upon the cross is done;
Our
Lord left nothing uncompleted.
The
battle that He fought is won;
Our
adversary is defeated.
Our
Savior suffered in our place,
For
justice couldn't be diminished.
He
bore our wrath to offer grace;
His
work upon the cross is finished.
O
Lord, what sweet relief You gave
With
words You uttered on the cross!
Now
"it is finished!" Thus You
save
Our
helpless souls from endless loss!
We
thank You for Your faithfulness
To
finish what we never could.
Let
all that is within us bless
Your
name, O Lord, for You are good!
