Eye on the Escape

“Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear Him, upon them that hope in His mercy, to deliver their soul from death” (Psalm 33:18,19).  How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard Him; God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to His own will?” (Hebrews 2:3,4).

Behold, the eye of God can see
But one escape for souls today.
His vision spans eternity,
And still He sees no other way.

That way is found in Christ alone!
If other ways were possible
Our Lord would not have left His throne
To be the Refuge of our soul!

The question comes to all of those
Yet marching onward to their graves.
The Door of God’s escape shall close;
Is there another door that saves?

The answer comes with evidence
With heaven’s loud, resounding “No!”
The prophets rest their sure defense,
With prophecies fulfilled below.

The miracles our Savior did,
Which no one ever did before,
Confirms the truth that is not hid,
Which sinners willfully ignore.

The signs and wonders God extended,
Confirming what His servants said,
Provide God’s witness comprehended
As they were by God’s Spirit led.

O Lord, how strangely souls resist
The evidence that You provide!
Though many lines of proof exist,
The fool is blinded by his pride!

Lord, help us draw aside the drape
To manifest Your great salvation,
That souls may flee to Your Escape
And thus be saved from condemnation!
