Finding the Faithful

“Thy faithfulness is unto all generations: Thou hast established the earth, and it abideth.  They continue this day according to Thine ordinances: for all are Thy servants” (Psalm 119:90,91).  “A faithful man who can find?” (Proverbs 20:6).  “With one mind and one mouth glorify God” (Romans 15:6).

There is a faithfulness we find
In laws of nature God ordained.
They are His servants thus designed:
Not one rebelled, and none complained.

But who can find a faithful man?
The eyes of God have searched the earth:
The Lord declares that NO ONE can,
For we are sinful from our birth!

The census of the Lord is done,
And heaven’s findings now are in:
There’s none found righteous; no, not one!
Alas!  We all are charged with sin.

The Lord has found a remedy
Whereby He may extend His grace:
He entered our humanity
And gave Himself to take our place.

Praise God!  The faithful Man is found!
He is our Savior, Jesus Christ!
Behold His mercies which abound:
For us our Lord was sacrificed!

O Lord, we glorify Your name
As we declare Your faithfulness!
You died to take away our shame;
You live forevermore to bless!
