“The LORD is a God of knowledge, and by Him actions are weighed” (1 Samuel 2:3). “Open Thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of Thy law… Thy testimonies also are my delight and my counselors” (Psalm 119:18,24). “In the multitude of counselors there is safety” (Proverbs 11:14). “BUT GOD be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you” (Romans 6:17).
There’s nothing our God does not know.
By Him all our actions are weighed.
The counsel that He will bestow
His Scriptures have clearly conveyed.
How wise is the counsel He gives
Which graciously He will provide.
Because He forevermore lives,
The Lord is our God and our Guide.
We see things with spiritual eyes
That natural eyes never saw.
God teaches our hearts to be wise
By wondrous things out of His law.
Yes, these are the counselors sent
To give us a word in due season,
Persuading the lost to repent,
Providing a confident reason.
How rightly now we may rejoice
In counsel from God we have heard
As we, as His sheep, hear His voice
And we are obeying His Word.
How safely we walk on this path
Where counsel from God is our light!
For we, whom He rescued from wrath,
Are kept evermore in His sight.
Our souls, Lord, which You died to win
Are free now to fully surrender!
No longer the servants of sin,
We serve You, our mighty Defender!
O Lord, we acknowledge our need
For Your constant counsel each day
To follow wherever You lead,
To trust You, and swiftly obey.
