Sanctified and Sent

“Sanctify them through thy truth: Thy Word is truth. As thou hast sent Me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world” (John 17:17,18).

By truth we have been sanctified,

And with the truth we’re sent:

The Word of God will thus divide

All those who will repent.

For thus we have been set apart,

To shine with heaven’s light,

To serve the Lord with all our heart,

With all our soul, and might.

This world God that has kept us in

Is not a world we’re of; 

It is a world that’s lost in sin,

That needs God’s saving love.   

O Lord, we thank You for Your Word

That sanctifies Your own

And sends us, by Your Spirit stirred,

To make Your Gospel known!
