Turned and Taught

"Turn again our captivity, O LORD” (Psalm 126:4).  “Hear, O My son, and receive My sayings…. I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths…. The path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day…. Turn not to the right hand nor to the left” (Proverbs 4:10-27).  “It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God…. Lord, to whom shall we go?  Thou hast the words of eternal life” (John 6:45,68).

O turn us, Lord, as You have done
So many times before.
There’s no one else but You, not one,
We’d turn to anymore.

You’ve taught us, Lord, in wisdom’s way,
And led in pathways right.
As sunshine grows throughout the day,
Your paths increase with light.

We dare not cast a wishful eye
To paths apart from You
Where hidden snares in darkness lie,
Prepared for those who do.

We are Your children, Lord, You’ve taught
And gathered at Your throne.
O captivate our every thought,
And let Your will be known.

To whom and where, Lord, shall we go?
To paths of sin and strife?
The answer of our heart is “NO!”
“You have the words of life!”
