Redemption Remembered

"The works of the LORD are great: sought out of all them that have pleasure therein.... He hath made His wonderful works to be remembered: the LORD is gracious and full of compassion.... The works of His hands are verity and judgment.... He sent redemption unto His people" (Psalm 111:2-9). "The Son of Man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give His life a ransom for many" (Mark 10:45).

The works of God display His treasure,
And we delight to look therein,
That we may search with endless pleasure
His work redeeming us from our sin!

His works are now remembered well,
Recalling how He left His throne,
That He might ransom us from hell
And send redemption to His own.

His works are truly wonderful
Which satisfy His truth and grace!
He sent redemption for our soul
As on the cross He took our place!

O Lord our God, as Son of Man
You left Your majesty above
To bridge that great, eternal span
Of heaven's law and heaven's love!

We thank You, Lord, as we recall
The great compassion that it took
To send redemption to us all
Whose names are written in Your Book!
