Peace in the Person

"Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!" (Psalm 133:1). "Behold, thy King cometh unto thee: He is just, and having salvation.... How great is His goodness, and how great is His beauty!" (Zechariah 9:9,17). "For He is our Peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us" (Ephesians 2:14).

How good and pleasant is the sight
Of unity which will exist
For brethren as they take delight
In Jesus Christ within their midst!

The world surely cannot give
The peace that Christ alone imparts.
Our Savior died that we might live,
And love for Him unites our hearts.

Behold our King who brought salvation:
His goodness is revealed thus!
His beauty fills our meditation
As we recall His love for us.

There was a time when we were all
United by our lost condition,
But Christ broke down the middle wall
Of sin, removing its partition.

O Lord, Your love for us constrains
And unifies our hearts together
Because You are the King who reigns
In hearts that You redeemed forever!
