Psalm 105:40 ~ The people asked, and he brought quails, and satisfied them with the bread of heaven.
Proverbs 24:27 ~ Prepare thy work without, and make it fit for thyself in the field; and afterwards build thine house.
Leviticus 10:1-3 ~ And Nadab and Abihu... offered strange fire before the LORD... and they died before the LORD. Then Moses said unto Aaron, This is it that the LORD spake, saying, I will be sanctified in them that come nigh Me.
Colossians 1:18 ~ And he is the head of the body, the church... that in all things he might have the preeminence.
The people in the desert asked
For momentary meat that fails.
Their wrong desire was unmasked
When they were sickened by the quails.
As Nadab and Abihu learned,
The Lord will have preeminence.
This principle cannot be spurned
Without a dreadful consequence.
