Contend for Christ

Read:  Psalm 96 / Proverbs 12 / Jonah 3 / Jude 1 

 

Psalm 96:2 ~ Sing unto the LORD, bless his name; shew forth his salvation from day to day.

Proverbs 12:5,20 ~ The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit… Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counselors of peace is joy.

Jonah 3:1,2 ~ And the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the second time, saying, Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee.

Jude 1:3 ~ Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

 

Let us go forth as salt and light

To show the truth of God’s salvation.

We have the proof that we are right

By Christ’s prophetic revelation.

 

Let us, as Jonah, now arise

To do Christ’s bidding day by day,

As we contend against the lies

With diligence as we obey.
