"As the mountains.. so the LORD is round about His people from henceforth even forever" (Psalm 125:2). "In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and His children shall have a place of refuge" (Proverbs 14:26). "They shall smite the Judge of Israel with a rod… whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting… and this Man shall be the Peace" (Micah 5:1,2,5). "Whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Rise up and walk?... The Son of Man hath power upon earth to forgive sins" (Luke 5:23,24).
As mountains
with their lofty rim
Surround the
people that they shield,
The Lord protects
those trusting Him
With grace and
truth in Christ revealed.
We have a refuge
we behold
In Christ who died
in our defense,
Whose goings
forth have been of old;
We have no other
confidence.
Our Lord was
smitten with the rod
Of judgment, so
to purchase peace.
To Christ our
Savior and our God
Be glory that
shall never cease!
O Lord, how costly
was this power
To pardon
sinners by Your grace!
How much You
suffered in that hour
To make Yourself
our Hiding Place!
