"And he (Rehoboam) did evil, because he prepared not his heart to seek the LORD" (2 Chronicles 12:14). "They have not prevailed against me… The LORD… cut asunder the cords of the wicked" (Psalm 129:2,4). "Through knowledge shall the just be delivered... and he that winneth souls is wise" (Proverbs 11:9,30). "We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts" (2 Peter 1:19).
We
seek the Lord, or else we fail;
Through
Him alone we shall succeed.
The
gates of hell shall not prevail,
For
this is what the Lord decreed.
What
confidence this truth affords
To
those who rightly will prepare!
God cuts asunder all the cords
Of
Satan's minions of despair.
We
are delivered from the lies
And
from our own besetting sin
As
preparation makes us wise
To
reach the souls that we may win.
As
we prepare our hearts, O Lord,
To
serve You and to seek Your face,
We
shall prevail by the sword
Of
Your prophetic Word of grace.
