“Deliver my soul, O LORD, from lying lips, and from a deceitful tongue… I am for peace: but when I speak, they are for war” (Psalm 120:2,7). “The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom” (Proverbs 10:21). “It is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time… Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist” (1 John 2:18-22).
The
lying and deceitful tongue
Is
now upon this world’s stage
And
in the classrooms of our young
Where
atheistic teachers rage.
The
battle plans of dark dominions
Are
carried out with deadly force.
The
lying tongue will spew opinions
Which,
like disease, will run their course.
It
isn’t an exaggeration
To
say that we are in a war.
We
show the lost the Lord’s salvation,
Which
Satan tells them to ignore.
We
are commanded by our Lord
To
answer with a clear defense.
His
Word of truth shall be our sword,
Which
we present with evidence.
The
coming of our Lord draws near;
We’re
living in a time that’s late.
The
battle lines should now be clear:
We
preach the peace our foes will hate.
We
have engaged the enemy,
The
spirit of the antichrist,
By
showing truth that make us free
Because
our Lord was sacrificed.
The
lying tongue shall not prevail,
Though
for a time it spreads confusion.
The
antichrist may loudly rail,
As
God allows his strong delusion.
Yet
God has shown us how it ends
When
lying lips forever cease.
Our
place for now is where He sends;
Our
purpose is to preach His peace!
O
Lord, we know our strength is small,
Yet
You sustain us by Your grace
To
fight the good fight where You call,
To
keep the faith, and run our race.
Lord,
thank You for Your Word sublime
Which
takes away the liar’s mask
With
reasoned answers in this time
Which
show Your truth to all who ask.
