"Give unto the Lord the glory due unto His name: bring an offering, and come into His courts. O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness" (Psalm 96:8,9). "Who can say, I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin?" (Proverbs 20:9).
How shall we come now to worship the Lord?
What right to approach can we claim?
Only the mercy of God could afford
To cleanse us from all of our shame!
Come in the beauty of holiness now,
Cleansed from our sin's every trace!
Only our wonderful Lord could endow
His holiness granted by grace!
Worship the Lord who has made our heart clean
And clothed us in His righteousness!
God has removed our transgressions between,
As far as the east is from west!
Yet even now, Lord, You know that we need
Your cleansing that washes our feet,
So that we may walk in the light where You lead
In fellowship constant and sweet.
Thank You for holiness, Lord, You impart
That Your righteousness must require.
You are the One who cleanses our heart,
And fills us with holy desire!
