Mistaken for Madness

"Bless the Lord... who forgiveth all thine iniquities" (Psalm 103:2,3). "I have appeared unto thee for this purpose... to open their eyes... that they may receive forgiveness of sins.... Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come.... And as he thus spake for himself, Festus said with a loud voice, Paul, thou art beside thyself; much learning doth make thee mad. But he said, I am not mad, most noble Festus, but speak words of truth and soberness... for this thing was not done in a corner" (Acts 26:16-26).

The hopeless wake up everyday
To emptiness and sadness,
Yet tell them there's another way,
And many call it madness.

We thank the Lord that some will hear
And turn to Christ the Savior.
To them the choice is very clear:
His judgment or His favor!

There is a madness so absurd,
So void of sanity:
That sinners would reject God's Word,
And hold to vanity!

Paul received this accusation:
"Much learning" made him mad,
All because he preached salvation
And pardon may be had.

It's not as if these things were done
In some fictitious place!
The prophets spoke of God the Son,
And God displayed His grace!

Though some regard it as insane,
Our God is not mistaken!
We preach the Gospel not in vain:
His truth cannot be shaken.
