"Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart. Rejoice in the Lord, ye righteous, and give thanks at the remembrance of His holiness" (Psalm 97:11,12). "In the fear of the Lord is strong confidence: and His children shall have a place of refuge.... The wicked is driven away in his wickedness: but the righteous hath hope in his death" (Proverbs 14:26,32).
Rejoice, you righteous, for God's Son;
Give thanks as you recall
That none were righteous, no not one,
When God looked on us all.
But God by grace can now afford
To justify all those
Who find their refuge in our Lord,
Who died for us and rose!
This is all our confidence;
We hope in Jesus Christ,
For He became our strong Defense,
When He was sacrificed.
In Christ our hope and holiness
In life and death are given.
The wicked shall have great distress,
When from Him they are driven.
