"I will hear what God the Lord will speak: for He will speak peace unto His people" (Psalm 85:8). "My son, if Thou wilt receive My words.... then shalt thou understand.... for the Lord giveth wisdom: out of His mouth cometh knowledge and understanding" (Proverbs 2:1,5,6). "And Paul, as his manner was... reasoned with them out of the Scriptures.... They received the Word with all readiness of mind, and searched the Scriptures daily, whether those things were so" (Acts 17:2,11).
If we are ready to hear the Lord speak,
If we will reason from God's point of view,
If it is His will, and not ours, we seek,
God will then show us what we ought to do.
If we will seek Him with all of our heart,
If for His counsel we earnestly pray,
God has assured us that He will impart
The wisdom and knowledge we need to obey.
As those in Berea were ready in mind
To search and receive then the truth of God's Word,
So may our Lord look upon us to find
Our readiness likewise to do as we've heard.
