Curse of Convenience

"And as he [Paul] reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee" (Acts 24:25).

There is a curse in one's perception,
When Christ is standing at the door,
That's led by pride by self-deception:
To turn away still one day more.

He says to "Go away this time,
Until a more convenient season,"
Exchanging blessings so sublime,
For lies that bring eternal treason.

No wonder Scripture clearly warns
To seek the Lord while yet you may.
The fool may boast, the sinner scorns,
But soon they die, and fly away!

Judgment comes! How quickly flies
The season of God's invitation.
Convenience mocks the one who dies
Without receiving God's salvation.
