"I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever: with my mouth will I make known Thy faithfulness to all generations.... Justice and judgment are the habitation of Thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before Thy face. Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound.... in Thy righteousness shall they be exalted" (Psalm 89:1,14-16).
For time and all eternity
We'll celebrate the fame
Of Jesus and His victory
That washed away our shame!
We'll sing about His faithfulness
And make His mercies known
That dressed us in His righteousness
That went before His throne.
His justice and His judgment reigned
And could not compromise
The judgment that His throne ordained,
Before His holy eyes.
The Son of God was therefore sent
To go before His face
And thereby bear our punishment
That we might have His grace.
How blest indeed are those who know
The faithful love of Christ,
Who even to the cross would go,
And there be sacrificed.
