His Foe beneath His Feet

Read:  Psalm 73 / Proverbs 12 / 1 Chron. 8 / Romans 16

Psalm 73:28 It is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works.

Proverbs 12:20 Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counselors of peace is joy.

1 Chronicles 8:34 And the son of Jonathan [Jehovah-given] was Merib-baal [later called Mephibosheth]; and Merib-baal [Quarrel against Baal] begat Micah [Who is like Jah?].

Romans 16:20 And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

The Lord now bids us to draw near

And lift our eyes to Christ above.

We cannot otherwise make clear

The Gospel of His wondrous love.

Though Satan is a mighty foe

And dreadful with his dark deceit,

Our Lord is greater who will show

The serpent bruised beneath His feet.
