Hears the Humble

Read:  Psalm 65 / Proverbs 4 / 2 Kings 25 / Romans 8

Psalm 65:2,3 O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come. Iniquities prevail against me: as for our transgressions, thou shalt purge them away.

Proverbs 4:18,19 The path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day. The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.

2 Kings 25:27-29 In the year that he [king of Babylon] began to reign, did lift up the head of Jehoiachin… out of prison… spake kindly to him… and changed his prison garments: and he did eat bread continually before him all the days of his life.

Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk… after the Spirit.

The Lord who hears the humble prayer

Of every sinner who repents

Went to the cross to thus prepare

A place for us by His defense.

Our Savior suffered, died, and rose

To purge away our condemnation

And to replace our prison clothes

With spotless garments of salvation.
