"Hezekiah… trusted in the LORD... for he clave to the LORD" (2 Kings 18:1-6). "From heaven did the LORD behold the earth… to loose those that are appointed to death" (Psalm 102:19,20). "If thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death… doth not He that pondereth the heart consider it?" (Proverbs 24:11,12). "The Father… hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son… having made peace through the blood of His cross" (Colossians 1:12,13,20).
When Hezekiah's heart
would fear,
He clave to God
with confidence.
When deadly foes
were drawing near,
He trusted in the
Lord's defense.
The Lord looks
down from heaven's throne
On those who
seek His saving favor
To make His
great salvation known
Through Christ who
died to be our Savior.
The Father has
delivered us
From sin and death
by His dear Son.
Our Savior rose
victorious;
His work that
saves our souls is done!
Lord, on Your
cross You did not cease
To fight for us
with every breath.
You shed Your blood
to buy our peace
And so delivered
us from death.
