Price of our Peace

"How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace...  Behold, My Servant shall deal prudently... His visage was so marred more than any man, and His form more than the sons of men" (Isaiah 52:7-14).  "But God, who is rich in mercy, for His great love wherewith He loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ; by grace ye are saved... through Christ Jesus... for He is our Peace" (Ephesians 2:4-14).

The price of our peace is declared
By those who are bringing good news:
God's Servant, His Son was not spared;
Behold Him whom sinners abuse!

Behold Him with visage so marred;
He hid not His face from such shame.
Behold Him with hands and feet scarred:
The Lord Jesus Christ is His name!

How great is the love of our Lord!
How hopeless was our situation!
His mercy alone could afford
The price to procure our salvation!

O Lord, as we ponder the price
For peace that You freely impart,
Astonished at Your sacrifice,
We worship with all of our heart!
