Fabulous Find

“If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God” (Proverbs 2:4,5).  “Then He arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.  But the men marveled, saying, What manner of Man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey Him!” (Matthew 8:27).

There’s nothing more fabulous that we may find,
There’s no greater treasure that may be explored,
There’s no greater truth that can lodge in our mind,
Than finding the knowledge of Jesus our Lord.

The fear of the Lord and the knowledge of God
Are fabulous finds that have been underrated:
Our Lord leads His own with His staff and His rod,
Yet rules by His power the things He created.

The prophets had said He would come to this earth
And do things that no one before ever did.
He entered humanity by virgin birth,
And none of these things in a corner were hid.

He lived among men manifesting His power,
Commanding the wind and the seas at His will.
He healed the sick, and the demons would cower,
And we are assured that they flee from Him still.

What manner of Man is our Lord Jesus Christ,
And what kind of treasures in Him shall be found?
He’s God and our Savior, the Lamb Sacrificed,
In Whom all the treasures of wisdom abound!

There’s nothing found worthy to even compare
With Jesus our Savior, for who is like Him?
There’s no competition!  There’s no one so fair!
Behold how the treasures of earth become dim!

Lord, YOU are the Fabulous Find of our hearts:
Let all other treasures make wings and take flight!
Indeed, as we hold them, their glory departs;
They’re gone in a moment, and vanish from sight.

The day is approaching, O Lord, when we’ll see
Our treasures unveiled in You face to face.
Until that day comes, help us always to be
A light to show others Your fabulous grace.
