Beauty Beyond

“Thine eyes shall see the King in His beauty: they shall behold the land that is very far off” (Isaiah 33:17).   “For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him… And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly… your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.   Faithful is He that calleth you, who also will do it” (1 Thessalonians 5:9-24).

The day is coming when we’ll see
The beauty of our glorious King
Enrobed with heaven’s majesty,
Surrounded by the host He’ll bring.

And who is this that shall comprise
His company in robes so bright?
Could this be US He sanctifies,
Preserved as blameless in His sight?

O, hallelujah!  Yes it is!
The Lord has thus assured our place
With every soul He counts as His
Whom He redeemed with saving grace!

Though we had earned His condemnation
With sin by which we all were stained,
He died that we might have salvation,
Which by His grace we have obtained!

We see His beauty far beyond
This place so filled with sin and shame,
And when eternity has dawned,
We shall be with Him without blame.

The Lord has said what He will do:
That’s all we really need to know.
His promises are always true:
He speaks the word, and it is so.

It’s Christ in us, make no mistake,
Reflecting righteousness so well,
That whether we should sleep or wake,
We shall forever with Him dwell.

We thank You, Lord, for who You are:
The Lamb of God who died for us.
You drew us near, who once were far,
With beauty that is glorious!
