Beautiful and Blameless

“The LORD taketh pleasure in His people: He will beautify the meek with salvation” (Psalm 149:4).  “Wisdom… shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee” (Proverbs 4:7-9).  “He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of His people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it… We will be glad and rejoice in His salvation” (Isaiah 25:8,9).  “And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath He reconciled in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in His sight” (Colossians 1:21,22).

The pleasure of the Lord is seen
In those He beautifies.
Salvation makes the sinner clean,
Unblameable, and wise.

The sinner now who wisely fears
Is crowned with saving grace,
And thereby God will wipe the tears
Away from every face.

The death that would have swallowed us
He’ll swallow up at last.
Salvation shall be glorious
And sorrow shall be passed.

Then those who once were enemies
And strangers in their mind,
Shall know the truth that saves, that frees,
And gives sight to blind.

Thus reconciled to the Lord
By Christ who for us died,
In beauty He shall be adored
By those He justified.

We thank You, Lord, for victory
That has removed our blame.
For time and all eternity
With joy we’ll praise Your name.
