Loveliness of our Lord

"Thou art my Hiding Place" (Psalm 32:7).  "Safety is of the LORD" (Proverbs 21:31).  "He is altogether lovely. This is my Beloved, and this is my Friend" (Song of Solomon 5:16).  "I am Jesus... now I send thee to open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in Me" (Acts 26:15-18).

How lovely is our Lord and Savior!
How wondrous is His saving grace!
He gave Himself to grant us favor;
He died to be our Hiding Place.

There is no safety we can find
Apart from Jesus Christ our Lord.
There is no heart of love so kind
As His in all the earth explored.

Behold the loveliness of Christ!
Consider Him, our dearest Friend,
Who on the cross was sacrificed;
He loved His own until the end.

As Jesus Christ commissioned Paul
To open eyes to see His love,
We also hear this upward call
To show salvation from above.

We call on sinners to be wise
And turn to Christ as yet they may.
We bid them come with open eyes;
Behold His loveliness today!

O Lord, the Author of salvation,
Your loveliness is great indeed!
You saved our souls from condemnation;
You died to meet our deepest need.

Your loveliness, O Lord our God,
Still fills our vision more and more.
All others we compare are flawed,
And as You draw us, we adore.
