Plain Path

"Teach me Thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies" (Psalm 27:11).  "A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps" (Proverbs 16:9).  "He that observeth the wind shall not sow; and he that regardeth the clouds shall not reap" (Ecclesiastes 11:4).  "The will of the Lord be done" (Acts 21:14).

There is a path which God makes plain,
When we have sought to do His will,
Wherein we find eternal gain
Within the calling we fulfill.

With enemies on every side
And with our wayward heart within,
We surely need the Lord to guide
And keep us from the snare of sin.

To Christ our Savior let us yield
As we have turned from vain distraction.
He calls us to His harvest field
To sow and reap with fruitful action.

Now may the will of God be done
As we obey our Savior's voice,
So precious souls may thus be won
As we proclaim salvation's choice.

O Lord, we thank You for that day
When we were led to Your plain path
To see the price that You would pay
To be our Hiding Place from wrath!

Lord, send us forth as we proclaim
And show the plain path we have found
Because there is no other name
But Yours where grace and truth abound.
