Liberty and Life

“Proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof” (Leviticus 25:10).  “Both young men and maidens, old men, and children:  let them praise the name of the LORD: for His name alone is excellent” (Psalm 148:12,13).  “He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame” (Proverbs 10:5).  “And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely” (Revelation 22:17).

Proclaim salvation’s liberty,
The prize of Christ’s victorious strife,
And celebrate the victory
Of Him who died to give us life!

Proclaim it now throughout the land,
To old and those yet in their youth!
It’s time for us to take a stand
And preach the Gospel’s saving truth!

Now let us praise the reputation
Of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior,
Who gave Himself for our salvation,
Though we did not deserve His favor.

The harvest season now is here;
It’s time to show why Jesus came!
The day of His return draws near;
To sleep in harvest is a shame.

The Spirit by our Savior sent
Is dwelling in His Church, the bride,
To call on sinners to repent
And turn to Christ, who for them died.

The Spirit and the bride say come
To souls who, in their sins, are cursed.
Though many mock, yet there are some
Who come to satisfy their thirst.

Now whosoever will today
May come to Christ and freely drink.
Though souls may choose to go astray,
Eternity should make them think!

O Lord, we thank You for Your Word,
Confirmed by ample evidence,
With liberty and life assured
To one who honestly repents!
