Justly Joyful

“I rejoice at thy word, as one that findeth great spoil” (Psalm 119:162).  “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth” (3 John 1:4).

How justly we lift up our hearts with full joy
As those who rejoice, having found a great spoil!
How rightly we sing the new song we employ,
Beholding our Lord and His triumphant toil!

It seems that our joy simply couldn’t be greater,
But then we rejoice as the Gospel takes root,
Producing new life in our own daughter later,
With children who likewise are bearing much fruit!

O Lord of our gladness, we give thanks to You
For so great salvation You freely impart!
We wake everyday to a joy that is new
For blessings still flowing each day from Your heart.
