Almighty Alpha, Omnipotent Omega

“I am Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the Ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty…  And He laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the First and the Last:  I am He that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death” (Revelation 1:8,17,18). 

The Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the Ending,

The Author and the Finisher of faith and of salvation

Is Jesus Christ our Savior upon whom we are depending,

Who solved our deepest problem when He bore our condemnation. 

He lays His hand upon us, and His tender words we hear:

“Fear not, I am the First,” He says, and evermore “the Last.”

The Alpha and Omega by His cross dispels our fear.

He holds the keys of hell and death which once had held us fast.

O Lord, because You live and are alive forevermore,

Because You laid Your life down so that we may thereby live,

Because You are the Alpha and Omega we adore,

We praise and thank You for the peace that You alone can give.
