Treading Triumphantly

“Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you…. Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest” (Joshua 1:3,9).  “Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace:  for I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city” (Acts 18:9,10).

Have not we heard the Lord’s command?
Has not He promised He will lead?
Be not afraid to take a stand
And preach the Word so many need!

When we will walk where God has led,
We’ll find His presence where we go;
Then every place our foot shall tread,
His triumph there He will bestow.

Be strong and tread triumphantly;
The Lord we trust can never fail!
We have the truth that makes us free,
Against which hell cannot prevail!

Do not GIVE UP, but GET UP rather!
The triumph waits for those who do.
Around our risen Lord we gather
With strength He daily will renew.

You spoke to Joshua, O Lord;
You spoke to Paul and us as well
With words whereby we are restored
To tread upon the gates of hell.

We thank You, Lord, in every place
Your power is made manifest.
Our standing is alone by grace
Wherein we triumph and we rest.
