“I
am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to
the unwise. So, as much as in me is, I
am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also. For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ:
for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the
Jew first, and also to the Greek” (Romans 1:14-16).
Are
we debtors, as was Paul,
To
everyone who needs the truth:
To
wise and unwise, great and small,
To
older folks, as well as youth?
Are
we ready now to preach
The
Gospel that was brought to Rome
Wherever
God extends our reach,
To
fields foreign or at home?
Are
we not ashamed to bring
The
Gospel truth of Christ our Savior
To
show the power of our King
Who
will bestow salvation’s favor?
O
Lord, renew in us today
A
readiness to boldly tell
Your
Gospel that declares the way
By which our souls are saved from hell.
