Hating the Halting

"Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? If the Lord be God, follow Him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word" (1 Kings 18:21). "That thy trust may be in the Lord, I have made known to thee THIS DAY, even to thee.... the certainty of the words of truth" (Proverbs 22:19-21).

How long will we halt between two opinions?
Let's honestly settle this matter today:
The King of all kings, above all dominions,
Commands our repentance and warns of delay!

How long will we waste the time that God gives,
While God has removed our reasons to wait:
The prophets have spoken; our Lord Jesus lives.
Our reasons to trust Him are many and great!

How long will we think that it's prudent to halt
Until it's convenient to fit our Lord in?
There's no better time than right now to exalt
The Lord who took time to redeem us from sin!
