Psalm 85:8 I will hear what God the LORD will speak: for he will
speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to
folly.
Proverbs 22:5 Thorns and
snares are in the way of the
froward: he that doth keep his soul shall be far from them.
1 Samuel 15:22,23 Hath the LORD as
great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice
of the LORD? Behold, to obey is
better than sacrifice... For rebellion is
as the sin of witchcraft... stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.
John 2:16,25 Take these things hence; make not my Father's house an
house of merchandise... He knew what was in man.
Shall I now hear
what God will speak,
But from His
counsel turn away?
Should not I only
daily seek
To hear His voice
and to obey?
Let stubbornness
be purged from me
With all its
sinful consequence!
Rebellion is
idolatry;
Let all these
things be taken hence!
