Despite Derision

Read:  Psalm 92 / Proverbs 29 / 1 Samuel 22 /John 9

Psalm 92:1-6 It is a good thing to… sing praises unto thy name, O most High: to show forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night... A brutish man knoweth not; neither doth a fool understand this.
Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
1 Samuel 22:23 Abide thou with me, fear not, for... with me thou shalt be in safeguard.
John 9:30 Why herein is a marvelous thing, that ye know not from whence he is, and yet he hath opened mine eyes.

It is a good thing every morning
And also every passing night
To thank the Lord, despite the scorning
Of those who hate His searching light.

The people perish without vision
While fools profess that they are wise,
Yet even so, despite derision,
The truth of God still opens eyes.
