Victorious Vision

"The LORD shall rule over you" (Judges 8:23).  "O GOD the Lord, the strength of my salvation, Thou hast covered my head in the day of battle" (Psalm 140:7).  "The path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day" (Proverbs 4:18).  "And he [the dying thief] said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when Thou comest into Thy kingdom.  Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with Me in paradise" (Luke 23:42,43). 

The way to be victorious

Is by the sweet and full surrender

To Christ who gave Himself for us

To be our Lord and our Defender. 

Though we were once like driven cattle,

Unmindful of eternity,

The Lord rose up for us in battle

And gave His life to make us free. 

The light has shined with saving favor 

To give us vision on our path

With grace received from Christ our Savior

Who has delivered us from wrath. 

Lord, thank You for victorious vision

To humbly pray with opened eyes  

Just as that thief by his decision

Secured his place in Paradise.
