Future Fire

"The LORD reigneth… A fire goeth before Him, and burneth up His enemies round about" (Psalm 97:1-3).  "For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.  But whoso hearkeneth unto Me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil" (Proverbs 1:32,33).  "Every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire… He will… gather His wheat into the garner; but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire" (Matthew 3:10-12). 

The Lord is coming back to earth;

That's not an IF, but rather WHEN.

His foes may mock Him now with mirth,

But they shall meet His fire then. 

We have a verbal photograph

Of Christ's returning in that day

When all His foes shall be as chaff

Who from the Savior turn away. 

Prophetic truth is absolute, 

Unaltered by the passing years, 

And every tree without good fruit

Shall be consumed when He appears. 

O Lord, in view of future fire

Proceeding from Your judgment throne,

We go forth showing Your desire

To make Your great salvation known.
