Delivered from Doubt

"Ye shall walk after the LORD your God… and cleave unto Him" (Deuteronomy 13:4).  "O God, my heart is fixed… Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man" (Psalm 108:1,12).  "The way of the wicked seduceth" (Proverbs 12:26).  "When he [Peter] saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.  And immediately Jesus stretched forth His hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?" (Matthew 14:30,31).

It's time to make our purpose plain
To fix our hearts on Jesus Christ.
All other help is surely vain
By which we wrongly are enticed.

The time has come to make a choice
To turn away from all seduction
And hear instead our Savior's voice
To trust and follow His instruction.

The wind may now be boisterous,
And loud may be the crashing waves,
But Christ has not forsaken us,
And to the uttermost He saves!

O Lord, You know we're prone to sink
Unless we keep our eyes on You.
Deliver us from how we think
When doubt begins to cloud our view.
