Persuasive Proclamation

"The Word of the LORD is right; and all His works are done in truth" (Psalm 33:4).  "The integrity of the upright shall guide them… and he that winneth souls is wise" (Proverbs 11:3,30).  "The LORD said… the elder shall serve the younger… And Isaac trembled… and said… He [Jacob] shall be blessed" (Genesis 25:23; 27:33).  "[Paul] reasoned in the synagogue every Sabbath, and persuaded the Jews… [Apollos] mightily convinced the Jews, and that publicly, showing by the Scriptures that Jesus was Christ" (Acts 18:4,28). 

The Word of God is surely right,

And all His works are done in truth. 

His counsel is persuasive light

For winning souls and training youth. 

The Lord gave His prophetic Word

And said that Jacob would be blest. 

Though Isaac's thinking was obscured,

He would, at last, to this attest. 

Though many Jewish minds were jaded,

Paul reasoned with them, just the same,  

As from the Scriptures he persuaded

That Jesus is the Christ who came.  

May this persuasive proclamation,

Lord, by Your Spirit, make us bold  

To show the proof of Your salvation

Which prophets clearly had foretold!
